IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Laos only recently became a popular tourist destination so please be aware that the living conditions of most people are far from western standards. Indeed, regarding the authentic aspect offered by our tours, flexibility and open-mindedness of participants is essential. A few important details to be noted are:

The road network can be in very bad condition, especially during the rainy season.
The trek can be a demanding experience but doesn’t present any particular difficulties (5-6 hours elephant trekking per day). However, participants needs to be in good health to participate in our tours (children must be over 10 years old).
Please note that during the trek, the living conditions will be basic: limited sanitation, local food, river bathing etc
5% of the trek benefits go to the Mobile Veterinary Clinic which provides care to elephants from Sayaboury province.
The itinerary (accommodation, schedules, roads) can changed during the trip according to the local conditions (climate, delay...). If any changes are likely, every effort will be made to ensure the main programme remains unchanged.

According to our experience, most of the people don’t use the majority of the luggage they bring with them; please consider the elephants that are carrying your baggageand try thus to limit your backpack’s weight to a maximum of 6kg.
